Abstract

After the independence of Central Asian countries, European Union (EU) made relationship with these countries and supported free market economic system instead of communism in this particular geographical area. For the first time, EU appointed special representative to Central Asia and has organized many assistance and supportive programs for Central Asia. Recently, with developing role of China & Russia in the Central Asia, withdrawal of some US troops from Afghanistan and the rise of extremism in the region have grown up the importance of Central Asia to EU. EU is comparatively less influential in Central Asia than Russia and China and cannot compete with them, so EU members are working to improve education system, human rights situation and work for upholding democratic values in the Central Asia. Moreover; EU developed approach in the framework of 2020 year plan for strengthening and energizing EU-Central Asia relations.
